Event details

  • 7:00 PM
  • Jarvis Street Baptist Church (concourse on the ground floor)

This year, the theme of our studies will be “The Way of Christianity”. The Young Adults group is for those who are from 18 years old (or finished high school) to the 30’s. We meet in the concourse at 7:00 p.m. and will begin with a lesson, then move into discussions or Q&A (based on group poll questions), and end off with some fellowship.

The Way of Christianity

From the earliest years Christianity was known as “the Way.” The word, like ours, was often used when speaking of journeys, roads, or pathways, but was also a metaphor for “way of life” in general, and the Christian way of life in particular. This “Way” was something one could merely known about (Acts 24:22), or something one could both be instructed in but also “belong to” and live “according to” (Acts 9:2, 18:25, 24:14). The phrase captured the essence of the transformation one encountered in Jesus, and the essence of the transformation of the world in His name.

Some spoke evil about “the Way” (Acts 19:9), and so from the earliest time, Christians, like Paul, defended the way intellectually (Acts 19:19), and, perhaps more importantly, demonstrated the way by living according to it (1Cor 4:17).

Do others know something of “the Way”? Yes. Many Christians have seen that “the Way” lies at the heart of all truth and all noble living (whether in the ancient past or today)—even those which are not Christian—yet the Christian Way is the road where all such roads meet (in other words, the one way); this can be shown. This has gone by many names, but Jesus called it—Himself—”the Way.”

You are on the Way already, yet you do not walk the Way alone. The questions and challenges you ponder and face are often (despite appearances) common to many who have walked this way. So throw your lot in with us Friday nights and we’ll walk together.
