The God of Consolation • 2 Corinthians 1:1–7

Christians inevitably face trials of various nature and severity. In these times, the temptation to conceive the Lord as distant and unconcerned with our troubles becomes pronounced. Paul allays believers’ fears that God is aloof by describing Him as “the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.”  To Him we look for consolation and assistance in our loneliness, perplexity, and grief.
