The Call of Abram • Genesis 12:1–9

The biblical narrative from Adam to Babel centres largely on humanity’s mounting rebellion against God. Declaring their independence from God, our progenitors experienced alienation from the Creator, moral depravity, and death. But this dispiriting story takes a decisively optimistic turn: the gracious Lord calls one man, Abraham as the vehicle of blessing to all nations—the blessing of salvation in Jesus Christ.
