“Lord, How Secure My Conscience Was” • Romans 7:7–25

The apostle Paul defends the Law of God against any suggestion that it is sin, defining the Law as holy, just, and good (Rom. 7:12). But he also stresses the impotence of the Law to overcome indwelling sin. Christians living in the in-between times experience the frustration of desiring to please God but hindered by indwelling sin. All this reinforces the truth that salvation depends solely upon the redemption that God accomplished through the Lord Jesus Christ.
